EMR System?: Sorian
Nurse to patient Ratio?: Varies 6 pts to 1 nurse
*Overall experience: Unsafe conditions at best. Nurse manager hides in his office - observed eating while staff too busy to have a break. He seems out of touch with reality. In a recent staff meeting he stated that a typical day there "grab your popcorn and watch the show". He also likened the patients as "raccoons trapped in a garage, just open the door and let them scurry away"

Nurse to patient Ratio?: 6 more of REU patients in the waiting room
*Overall experience: Feel largely unsupported, surveilled. Much of the staff works long hours, short handed without adequate breaks and are met with criticism for what they failed to do, rarely get commended for their hard work and dedication to their patients. Nurses are the "fall guys" in this department if something isn't perfect or someone complains. Providers ama suppprt staff have little accountability

*Overall experience: I just wanted to say first off the staff is wonderful and supportive. However I felt very unsafe with assignments especially do to the fact they require the bedside RN to not only transport stable PT to the floor but also to testing leaving critical patients behind with staff that is already overwhelmed. They have removed all ancillary staff from the department except for some emergency technicians. Management very unsupportive making morale very low. My take away is unrealistic expectations and being set up for failure.
